The scales don't lie...

Today I weighed myself for the first time in a long time and I'm heavier than I thought I was. Damn diddly damn was my first thought. No way I can still tell myself I'm xkgs when now I know I'm actually x+afewkgs.

I guess this explains the too tight trousers, the squidgy tummy and the giant bottom. And the need to actually do something about it instead of sitting on the giant bottom and letting it get gianter.

J and I have been running a couple of times and we'll hopefully go again this weekend. So if we can do that once a week it'll be a good start. Plus I'm doing my first ever yoga course, a six-week Ashtanga course which after two weeks I'm really enjoying. So small progress, but a longer way to go than I at first thought!!!

29 Gifts - Day 2

This is going to be tougher than I thought. It really takes a lot to think about giving things to people and making the effort to do this daily.

So today, I have tried to be nicer, giving compliments, smiles etc, which I know isn't giving much but it does make me think that doing a little thing like that is little but can have a big effect.

Plus I have ordered something for the next however many days so I can continue my giving in earnest! More to follow on that shortly.

Friday has been a long time coming...

So here is a little dog with the sorts of eyes I get when I see cakes like this! It has been a long week, I've had a programme running so have been in and out of the office and up early every day. I don't cope very well with early mornings, especially when it's every morning!

I am also not enjoying the cold or my ability to eat a lot and then feel horrid. I know I should just reduce my portion size, I think about it and then go ahead and eat it all anyway. So I shall try and slowly change my mind to resist what's on my plate and hopefully have a happy tummy and a happier me.

It's looking like it's going to be a busy next few days for me from here on in, lots to do this weekend and lots to do every day next week.

Sorry for the slightly morose nature of this post. Onwards and upwards next week! Have lovely weekend's and valentine's days.

Somehow I've managed to post 100 posts. Which is very exciting for me. I'm still not sure I quite understand the direction of this blog and my apologies for its sometimes rambling nature. It would be lovely to hear from you though, what you enjoy, if there's something you'd like to hear more of or see more of or any other thoughts!

Otherwise, it's Friday! Woo hoo! This one has been a long time coming. J is super busy at work and my work has picked up too. So I'm looking forward to my first weekend in London since May... I shall be catching up with old friends and saying good bye to J for a week and a half.

Friday Fun

The above are a very cute pair of sun bears. Apt because we are not having much sun here at the moment. The rain has been persistently showery and catches you in the oddest moment. It's very frustrating.

However last night was a beautiful summer evening. The dusk light was stunning, grey clouds scattered across a pinkish sky. I was walking home from a later than normal work finish through St James park and thinking how lucky I am to walk to and from work through some beautiful bits of London.

And to finish up an old story, this weekend I'm off to my sister-in-laws hen do. I asked her about it and she reassured me that of course she wanted me to come. So I'm off to down to the South Coast of England for a Spa day followed by a night on the tiles. Shall report more on Monday! Although no photos I forgot my camera...
